Is looking for qualified candidates for the following position:

Fastrip is searching for Assistant Managers to manage overall store operations during his/her designated shift.  This position is responsible for providing excellent customer service by assisting customers with their shopping needs, and by promoting various store products.

Location(s):  Bakersfield, CA (Union & Pacheco), Delano, CA; Shafter, CA;

Hours:  Full-Time

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide and model excellent customer service by assisting the customer with their shopping needs while in our stores.
  • Promote sales within the store.
  • Oversee store operations on designated shifts and in the absence of store manager.
  • Communicate with Store Clerks about store operational concerns such as promotional products, inventory concerns, safety and security advisories, other upcoming events/concerns.
  • Manage Store Clerks to insure the efficient and accurate processing of sales transactions to promote customer service and sales within the store.
  • Oversee the completion of the Daily Job Assignment Sheet for designated shift by assigning specific tasks to employees and reviewing tasks for completion
  • Monitor and insure compliance of employees with established store policies and procedures regarding safety, security, sales, inventory, etc.
  • Train Store Clerks in proper procedures in all facets of the operations. 
  •  Participate in the selection process of new Store Clerks to build a strong sales team
  • Promptly report any concerns to the Store Manager (or others, as appropriate) concerning customer concerns, store operations, inventory discrepancies, employee concerns, etc.
  • Prepare merchandise orders as needed

Other Responsibilities:

  • Complete the daily paperwork to reconcile and record the daily transactions including preparing daily deposit and daily report with all supporting documentation for Accounting.
  • Properly reconcile and record merchandise received from vendors by verifying merchandise received and recorded on the Receiving Log.
  • Actively work to resolve customer concerns to promote excellent customer service. 
  • Assist Store Manager with various routine tasks and functions as assigned.
  • Participate in meetings as Store Representative in the absence of Store Manager


Preferred Skills:

Ideal Candidate:

  • Must be available to work nights, weekends, and overtime (estimated 44-48 hours per week)
  • Must have demonstrated customer service experience
  • Must have demonstrated successful sales experience in a retail environment
  • Must have previous experience in a convenience store or similar type retail environment
  • Must have previous supervisory or management experience
  • College degree or equivalent professional experience (preferred)
